A voice like no other. This is one of her best vocal recordings in my opinion.

Richard Carpenter has gotten a lot of recognition over the years…but not nearly enough. The man is a genius in the studio, one of the most accomplished pop writers of all time, as well as bringing his unique sound to the stage.

Cars must be very cheap way back in 70s to be able to put down $100 to buy a car in LA as the song says. Interesting.

Damn, the drumming was difficult enough, yet she sings over it effortlessly.

Karen, what an amateur. At 5:10 she gets carried away so much by the music that she enjoys holding out the harmony too long and skips the first phrase of the second verse, instead, just la-la-la-ing her way into some far off musical dream world beknownst only to her. Richard shot her an acid look and snapped her back to reality and luckily she was able to pick right back up on the lyric and none of those Japanese ever knew the difference. Thank God for Richard...otherwise Karen would be just another drummer. (Kidding! Kidding! I love Karen as much as anyone, but she did miss the first half of that verse).
